The 18: A Come Home Year of Remembrance
On Remembrance Day, Friday, November 11, choirs and performers come together for a powerful musical event at the Basilica. One of the many highlights is a newly created narrative, THE 18, celebrating the children of London's Beatrix Potter School, who uplift and illuminate the memory of 18 Newfoundlanders laid to rest far from home during WW1. THE 18 is woven together with performances by The Ennis Sisters, Petrina Bromley, Mason Dicker & Annabelle Ramsay, Lakecrest Chamber Choir, Lady Cove Women’s Choir, La Rose des vents, Newman Sound Men’s Choir, The NL Deaf Choir, The Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band, Silvern Voices from Corner Brook and The Singing Legionnaires.
THE 18 will premiere a beautiful script written by Kyle McDavid and premiere the song Forever Far From Home, by Maureen Ennis and Perry Chafe and arranged by Leslee Heys – both created especially for this concert.
FREE ADMISSION – General seating, Friday, November 11, The Basilica of St. John the Baptist, 2:00 pm
Donations accepted at the door for the Poppy Campaign to support Veterans and their families.
